Re: Long Delay in Review

HG, what's your current delay if you don't mind me asking?

My oldest is Nov 6th, but I was away and didn't submit anything for about a week before that.

(Private requests are still going through reasonably quickly)

Re: Forbidden Words on CC

That one is frustrating. I think it's an individual editor thing. I've had the "we could all use..." and "let's take a look at..." kind of rejections, but one article was written in Q&A format with the Qs in first person, and it sailed through (and sold quickly as it happens)...

Re: Are Cheap Rates Killing CC?

Might as well churn it out for Textbroker at those rates.

Good luck to the writers I suppose if they make it pay, but I've seen plenty burn out like that.

Quite amusing to see "How to make money from freelance writing" sell for $3.

Anything in particular?

I've been muting request notifications more frequently lately thanks to 'storms' of emails about the same crappy request, so I'm probably missing quite a few.

Re: Word Count Weirdness

It looks like the editor box is adding a chunk of CSS code during submission. Nicole was helpful in fixing a few approved articles, but I'm still not sure whether the problem is at my end or CC's. But just for info, for now the fix is to edit submitted articles while still in review, click on the 's...

Word Count Weirdness

Ok, an article that was just approved shows a word count that's way off the real figure. 166.1% higher to be precise

And it seems my articles still in review have the word count as an editable field, which I don't remember seeing before.

Anyone else?

Re: Purged article...

I think I'll probably rework it to focus on the generic term, and say something like 'major manufacturers such as BRAND and UNKNOWNBRAND' somewhere in it. I might let it lie for a while first though. But yes, I find it odd that I can write countless articles on how Pinterest/Twitter/Instagram or wha...

Purged article...

Ok, following Judith's surprising rejection for wordiness , it does seem some new editors are a bit more picky. I've just had an article purged for being promotional. Okay, fair enough, it does deal with a common brand name. I could easily make it generic, I suppose, readers would still know what I ...

Re: Seasonal?

Unfortunately that method doesn't show the sales date or buyer, nor the price without clicking through to every sale. It really would be nice if all our catalogue data was available in a CSV :?: re catalog size, I'm into four figures written, and I try to keep the sales ratio down to around 50% i.e....
