Re: September 2017 Stats: Health & Lifestyles/Self-Help

oh good. I stopped looking last week because last week was depressing. lol

I don't do as much as you guys, but I made a huge effort this summer. By "huge" I mean 70 in 4 months. I'm soooo close to 1000. I think I'm about 150ish out from 1000.

Re: Casting Calls and Expectations

I learned from Elance never to discount my price based on promises of a lot of work. But yeah, I don't bother with casting calls. I'm perfectly content writing about stuff I like and putting it on the marketplace. Sometimes the people lowballing writers buy content from my catalog. LOL They are lowb...

Re: September 2017 Stats: Health & Lifestyles/Self-Help

They haven't sold much from the catalog the last week or so. Like 20 max in a day. Haven't looked in the past few days.

Has anyone noticed that views might be broken? They slowed to a crawl for me and then today I got a sale on an article with no views.

Re: Egotistical Editor?

Nothing was as bad as early 2016 when some editor was rejecting and deleting the article without any revision requests. They used to do that back in 2009 when I started but they stopped deleting sometime around 2010 or 2011. It was a pain, because you lost keywords, overview, etc unless you saved th...

Do you guys do any cold emailing?

I've been reading around and plan to pitch writing to people in my niche in my local tri-county area. I've read that writers have success and I don't think I have much, if any, competition locally. I'm going to write a custom email for each after I look at their site and find the owner's contact inf...

Re: Punctuation, Wording Question

I would just make the suggestion and not change it. People can be weird about criticism and their work. I think making a suggestion like "Hey, I think maybe you should change it to x. Just a suggestion." is kinda not criticizing her but doing your job and making the suggestion. I get a lot...

Re: Site Search Feature

My guess is that people are putting unrelated search terms in the keywords to have stuff show up in any search. It's always the scumbags ruining it for everyone tbh and this is a content farm, so I'm sure there are plenty. I would bet that writers are putting "SEO" in all of their content ...

Re: Do You Have Your Own Website?

I wish this forum was more active. That's pretty cool, Judith. I made a blog for programming and cyber security, because it's my thing and I thought it would help me show off my content for potential clients. I finally got back into it recently but I don't have much up there. I spend soooo much time...

Re: Do You Have Your Own Website?

I have a website and had it before I began writing for CC. I have been building web sites for 20 years, and promoted my content site primarily to those web clients. I do get work from it, but mostly in combination with a Wordpress site. Promotion is where I fail. I hate it, so I never do it. I'd lo...

Re: Do You Have Your Own Website?

Thanks! np! I should add that even though I do nothing with my old aged site that I coded myself, customers that read my work do a search for me and find the website which then has my email. So I don't get direct traffic to the site, but I do make it easy for people to find me and email me. One pro...

Re: Do You Have Your Own Website?

I do and I coded it myself and haven't touched it in 5 years, so it's aged. Most of the people who find me online and email me directly have found my work for other customers. Since I don't have a byline for stuff here, I don't get outside work from my work here. I created a blog and started writing...

Re: "Kick-off Meeting Webinar"

lol you go with your bad self <hair flip> Just remember you don't have to take what people offer you. Obviously, people will throw you something low hoping you'll take it. You just tell them what you require and they either take it or leave it. If they are talking to you, then you know they are alre...

Re: "Kick-off Meeting Webinar"

lol that's funny.

$10/article? I wouldn't even stop playing a video game at that price lol You can't offer sweatshop budgets and expect quality. People need to learn the hard way I guess.
