Re: Problems with getting payment
Getting responses back to questions from CC is a definite problem, and it's not good that it's so hard to get in touch with them. I've had that problem myself, trying to get articles 'released' so they'll show up in searches. However, I don't think there's any problem with buyers using a single arti...

Re: Sometimes you just have to shrug and laugh...
If you include a note explaining why what you did was definitely correct, maybe the editors will allow it. I wouldn't be surprised. One time they dinged me for doing something that the client had specifically requested I do, but once I pointed that out the article was let through.

Re: Twiddling my thumbs
Sometimes I write articles in third person, sometimes in first, and I don't think I've ever got hit for either one. So do you guys resubmit purged articles? The one time I got an article purged I got a bit freaked out and didn't even consider submitting it back again. It wasn't rejected for anything...

Re: Promoting Your Constant Content Portfolio - Yes or No?
I never directly signed up for Upwork (I just had my Elance profile transferred over when they phased out Elance), but as of right now my Upwork profile is using a pseudonym, so I would guess that doing that is acceptable. Also, Upwork is a bidding site. Sorry, you must have the same name on your a...

Re: Writing Topics
Look at the other stuff that sells, or what other authors are writing on. You can really write on just about anything you want, but obviously some stuff is more likely to sell (or at least more likely to sell quickly). Pursuing topics for which there's a market is probably the easiest and simplest a...

Re: Using sold articles as writing samples?
But what if you're not posting a public link to article that sold for full rights? I.e., you're just showing it privately to a potential client to try and demonstrate your skills? I have a hard time seeing what would be wrong with that.

Re: Using sold articles as writing samples?
I can't see what damage would be done by showing work privately. You aren't claiming you have legal rights to the article or anything like that, just proving your writing abilities… Which of course do exist, even if the article isn't legally yours. But maybe I'm overlooking or unaware of something…

Re: Rejection for using him or her - his and hers
I wish they would tell us when the rules suddenly change. For example, I've written numerous article where I use the word form of a number in the title (i.e, 'six')… But now the editor suddenly says I'm supposed to use '6' instead. It's hard to tell in situations like these if it's just one e...

Re: Unsold articles in limbo
I like doing the public requests if it's something general enough that it will still have a good chance of selling even if the requester passes. There's no real downside to those. What's slightly annoying is that there seem to be more casting call requests these days. That's another barrier you have...

Re: A plea to CC editors
The editors are definitely inconsistent. I'm confident that if you got all of them together in one room and asked them to each edit the same article, you would get a wide variety of results. Many of my articles sail right through, but then sometimes I'll get one back filled with strikethroughs. Usua...

I moved up to 2 quite quickly after joining, but have now been sitting there for a long time. I don't think it's too important though, it won't have a big effect on your success on CC.

Re: Confused Customer- how do I answer her?
also- what does CC advise writers to set the Default for- 100%? thanks I'm not sure what CC itself advises, but the consensus on the forums when this topic has come up before seemed to be that 100% was the best option, so that's what I've always done. The explanation was that customers are less lik...

What is a good price per page for editing? I've never done it and have no idea really what would be fair.

Re: CC content editor form
Yes, this is pretty annoying. I usually add the title and my byline first before I copy over the text of my article, but with the way it works now that can't be done.
