Re: Really Struggling

Not sure the support group is only for newbies. I`ve been here a little more than 2 yrs now. I have had many days where I`ve said it`s not enough to count on, many discouraging thoughts. I look for other ways to, what I call, deversify. I do casual audio transcription for a company, some proofreadin...

Re: My article's status has been on "waiting" for over 11 days

In the last few months I've had 2 in "waiting" that were then no longer waiting but not sold either. Bummer.

Also for some reason I haven't sold a single thing in about a month. That is odd for me, and dissapointing.

Re: Still no sales!

I know how frustrated you feel as I have felt that way often. How long have they been up? I didn't sell any for about a month and a half at first. Apparently when I sold 3 in the first three months I was told that was good. I just sold one that I posted a year ago. If they are worthwhile, one day th...

Am I just paranoid or could it be that writers here borrow or steal another writer's article? I just read 2-3 articles written by another writer here that sound like articles I've written. Problem is I can't find my copy. Can 2 people really write the same? My mind is suspicious and it really bugs m...

I've never been approved or had feedback under the blog category I submitted for, so I'm saying just forget it.

Helpful Tip for Year-End Earnings

I've decided that in order to calculate my writing income for 2011 taxes I will just go to my profile, go to the "sold" page, and print off the list of the entire year's sales. Then I will add up the price and, of course, subtract the 35%. This way I've not needed to do invoices or or book...

Safe Guard Suggestion

You might want to add a safeguard check box or something for when we post an article for "use" only because it is something we've already put on our blog. Yesterday I was reviewing my content and noticed and old unsold one in particular that was listed for "use" only. I'll be dar...

Re: No article length selected; how long should an article be?

I would suggest more in line with 400-800. 300 is pretty short. I'm bad for this, but 1100 - 1200 is really kind of long. I do try to chop them down or make them into 2 but doesn't always work. I like details (too much, perhaps).

Referral Code No Longer?

Not that I had any success giving out my referral code in the past, but I don't see option any more. Is it gone? (where you would get a commission from a referral's sales.)

Re: Pricing Advice for Private Piece

Yes, I know they don't care about the time. In my mind, it is still poor compensation for my time, but on the other hand paying $100 for one sheet of paper seems crazy too. Thanks for your feedback. I guess the doubt I have is what if after all this time spent they decide it's not quite what they wa...

Pricing Advice for Private Piece

I posted this on the author's forum but see it is so far down no one may answer and I was hoping to decide today. I have a private request that at first I was thinking of turning down as I was not familiar with the topic. Instead I took it and did research so have spent well over 10 hrs on it. The b...

I'm not sure either because I've thought of changing titles myself but can't. I would think a total resubmit might be necessary.

I've hit my article instead of the edit button and noticed it recorded it. Otherwise I'm not sure.

Re: Any fiction writers here?

$6 a page is just not worth it to an author. You might find some writers in a club just starting out that would be happy with that.

Pricing Advice for Private Piece

I have a private request that at first I was thinking of turning down as I was not familiar with the topic. Instead I took it and did research so have spent well over 10 hrs on it. The buyer put the price range at $50 to $100 and it is 1200 words. Would you charge $100? Or would you go in lower? Tha...
