Re: Things You Think New CC Editors Should Know

What do you think new editors should know about the Constant Content platform?

On one project I was told not to submit a new document but to make my changes on the editor's blocked in section. Is that the right thing to do?

Re: Things You Think New CC Editors Should Know

Yes, definitely needed! They are not there to suggest a re-write. Their style may be different, doesn't always mean better. Focus on tense, grammar, punctuation, typos. Don't be snide in comments. Snide = attitude of superiority. Acquaint themselves with the possible buyers and the purpose the piece...

Not on that project, but the Walmart one was a bust for me.

Re: Egotistical Editor?

If I get a severely unfounded marked up copy back, I don't resubmit to that person. I start over. Too much trash talk for what it's worth.

Re: Do You Have Your Own Website?

Yes, http://www.RosalieGarde.com . See the writing section for what I did. I just got a private writing job because I talked about my Constant=Content sales on Facebook. The person wanted to ask questions but also wondered if I do it outside CC. I pointed her to my writing page on my website. I also...

Punctuation, Wording Question

Doing a re-write for a client of their copy. I don't like the title, but I don't want to offend her. In question is the term "cared for" where I'm wondering about a hyphen or as is? Also, isn't using "First of all" passe? I would remove it. (and would take out the comma before wh...

Self-Promotion/Marketing, Pen Name, etc.

I want out of my confusion  of how to market myself while hiding behind a pen name. I started with a pen name so I could keep content writing separate from other work I do. I randomly chose Joy Calderwood, but didn't know enough to Google the name first. Drat! Once I did I saw there is anot...

Re: Insurance and Credit Card Articles Needed For Monday

I haven't jumped in because in my experience living in 3 different provinces in Canada each has their own insurance methods. Unless the article is very general, I have no clue how one might right a one-size fits all.

I had that excitement too - 2 emails, a "waiting" notification and a non-sale. Hope it wasn't a pirate.

Re: Erroneous information in sold article

This whole "objectivity" issue has been bugging me too ever since I started writing. I wouldn't want to give out false -let alone dangerous- information, so I always try to cross-check and verify whatever I choose to include in my articles (and, yes, that can take ages!). I'm with you. I ...

Re: water damage restoration & wheat allergies

I wrote on water damage. Maybe I didn't have what they wanted. I got a sold notification by email, came to the CC site to see it was listed as "waiting", a day later it was no long waiting and wasn't sold. I hope they didn't pretend to buy it so they could steal it.

Sample License/Contract

I'm networking locally and will be giving a talk soon about the value of content for marketing. Apart from recommending my work on this site, I want to tell them if they hire me personally to write for them I can give them a choice of licenses. So my question is, what do I give them as a license? Do...

Accepting an Offer

When an offer is made do we merely click "accept" or do we go to our content and change the price too? I had an offer for something for use license.
