Re: Application Process/Criteria For Writer's Pools

To be honest (and strictly speaking from my own experience here), I think most of the work in the background is from a customer saying "I want this writer." That makes sense. Why wouldn't these ones just come through as a private request though? Why would clients ask for people to join wr...

Re: Application Process/Criteria For Writer's Pools

Even a statement that 'there are no hard and fast rules' would probably help. When some people believe that there are clear requirements (e.g. at least 10 articles, 65% acceptance rate or higher) then it would be useful to have an official statement from CC to say whether this is the case or not. Of...

Re: Application Process/Criteria For Writer's Pools

Yes - that's exactly my original point. It's interesting to hear other writers' experiences (and I'm pleased for their successes) but these discussions show that there's no transparent, consistent process to writer's pools. If that's intentional on CC's part (and it's their choice), then I think it ...

Re: Will deleting an article have any adverse effects?

Hi - I have deleted articles and I'm not aware of any problems - if CC didn't want us to delete them, I don't think they would give us the tools to do it! I reviewed one of my earliest articles and decided it wasn't good enough. I have also had to delete articles when there have been bugs in the pre...

Application Process/Criteria For Writer's Pools

I'd like to see a lot more transparency on the process for writers joining writers' pools. Project managers invite some writers after just a handful of articles (kudos to those writers - I am not suggesting they don't deserve it) and some writers don't ever seem to get that invite. Opinion on the fo...

Re: UK/US/etc English

Yes - good suggestion - a simple field to select would be very easy to do and very helpful for writers. Many customers may just assume the site caters for a U.S. audience only.

Family Owned or Family-Owned?

Hi I can't conclude whether to write 'family-owned businesses' or 'family owned businesses'. 1 - There's a standing request on Constant Content that says 'family owned businesses' consistently. 2 - MS Word doesn't seem to mind either version. 3 - Articles online seem to go either way. Examples: http...

Re: Waiting article.

Good advice here. I've had a few that appeared as 'waiting' and they all went through as sales in the end. Patience is definitely the way forward with those ones.

Re: How do you get approved for different writing positions?

I'm still plugging away to see if I can hit the magic number to get access to writers' pools. I had an article rejected last week (my first for a while), which was rejected for containing first person even though the client had expressly requested this. By the time I went back to push this back to t...

Re: what happens to public request articles that aren't boug

Did you ever get a reply to your request? I have a couple of articles in a similar position and I can't see a way to tell whether they have been returned to the public pool or not. I have to say that I hope the Constant Content support team responds a bit more professionally to potential clients - I...

I was going to add that I am in Australia, so if that project is short of writers I'd be happy if more hands were needed - but the comments here slightly worry me, I must admit....

Re: Kdc, a.k.a. newbie here...

Hi - I'm pretty new (joined late December) so I will share my experience/advice. When I joined I submitted three articles, all of which were accepted. Buoyed with my sense of acceptance, I went on to write another five, submitted over three days. The first two came back to me, with some fairly signi...

Re: What are we missing?

Hi - a few ideas for you. 1 - Under 'Project Management Professional' it may be worth adding Prince2 - this is probably the most commonly recognised project management qualification. 2 - Please add 'Program Management Professional' - this is quite different to a project manageer (as I am sure you ar...
