Re: What the heck is going on?

Hey Gypsy--check your email. You should have gotten an updated payment info message from the site. They have a new payment processing method. I just filled out my info but have some questions so I'm not 100% clear on how it works--if it goes to my bank directly or if I have to transfer manually as w...

Re: Revision requests

I wouldn't worry about it at this point since they already paid for it. I believe that if they require more changes, they will have to turn back the piece and you'll get another notice that it's in your revision queue. I have only ever denied one revision. I tend to do them regardless because I don'...

Changes in Editing?

Hi, this isn't a complaint at all, but I thought it would be helpful to discuss this. I just resubmitted an article that was rejected. There were no grammatical issues. The editor simply thought various lines were wordy and could be tightened up. The edits were great. No complaint. My issue was that...

Re: No, I'm not a narcissist...

Any thoughts from support??? All I know is that I look at hundreds of websites and ours is definitely on the clunky/confusing side. If it is about the money, as Word Gypsy mentioned, then we all have a stake in making it the best possible place to hunt for content--and writers! My suggestion is to b...

Re: No, I'm not a narcissist...

LOL...I literally have clicked on everything to find it and then had to revisit some links because I knew I had missed it. I thought there had to be an easier way but I was just missing it. If you guys at CC are planning another update or revision down the road and need some input from regular site ...

No, I'm not a narcissist...

I'm not a narcissist by any means, but it seems to me that the old site made individual writers stand out better; at least, writers were easy to search for. It took me 15 minutes to look up a writer today. The "writer search tool" is buried three tabs deep. You have to first scroll to the ...

Re: Slow Paying Clients

On occasion, I've written for requests where the client never came through, but this is rare. One thing I've gotten in the habit of doing is checking with one of the reps to see if they can step in to ask for credits or simply verify that the client already has credits posted. Typically, if I'm goin...

Re: Holiday?

Thanks! You're right. Just googled it. I couldn't get in touch on Friday either--bet it was a four-day weekend. I would imagine payment will come through tomorrow then.

Thanks for your input!

Holiday?

I haven't been able to get in touch with CC and wondered if it was a holiday? I seem to be having an email issue and, though it can wait, I needed some help from the reps. Anybody know if staff is around today?

Thanks for your help!

Re: fairly priced spec vs. underpriced team: which is better

First, I am glad I read this thread. Haha...I was beginning to take the editing personally and I see that I'm not alone. I've always said I can smell a new editor from thousands of miles away. In the last few months, there has been a new, shall we say, flavor to the editing that has been exceedingly...

Re: Problems with new submission system

I'm having problems too...plus editor (new editor?) is saying that words are missing but none appear to be missing on my end so I think there are glitches...and would you believe my email is acting up too?! So, I will also get in touch with support also as soon as I can. I would imagine that the tec...

Re: What book do you recommend for better writing?

Don't get discouraged. Writing is a process and the more you do it the better you will be. It really does take a lot of practice. Try to stick to subjects you enjoy; often when you like a topic, you can communicate about it more effectively than a topic you know little about. Good luck though!

Re: What book do you recommend for better writing?

I actually never use them, but I'm sure some of the writers here could recommend some good ones. If I'm ever uncertain, I usually check quickly online. I think Purdue University has a decent writing center website if memory serves--I've wound up there a few times. When you look online, it seems to g...
