Re: Putting in a byline

Oooh. Is there an issue with bylines? What have I missed? You'd need your byline for usage, surely. ??

Plus if someone buys the license outright, they just take your byline off, surely.

OK I'm going to stop calling you Shirley.

Putting in a byline

I may have got the wrong end of the stick when uploading some articles recently. I understood that you weren't supposed to put a byline anywhere - in the title, the short summary or in the submitted piece. I've now read that if you don't include a byline, a customer who buys an article for usage isn...

Glitch in the upload process?

Hi all

Just been giving a good scrub down to some old articles for usage. Upon uploading them i discovered that when you uncheck the boxes for rights other than usage, they don't stay unchecked. Is that a glitch, or will they just show the usage price and nothing else when they've gone through? :?

Re: Old articles - should I highlight it's pre-pub to editor

Thanks. I use two, sometimes three to make absolutely sure and they've not let me down yet over the years. All I can find is my own original article. I found a note in the forum on another thread that says using your own pre-published articles is OK, so I've answered one of my own questions now. Sti...

Re: Old articles - should I highlight it's pre-pub to editor

However, if it's a CC policy not to allow pre-published bylined articles I'll delete my submission. I had a search but couldn't find anything to suggest that but I wanted to be sure.

Re: Old articles - should I highlight it's pre-pub to editor

Thanks. I had checked the web for any copies or content phrases and it hasn't been scraped. My original article is the only one out there and has my real name on it. I've now added a note to say what its origin is. There's no way I'd let something through if it had been splashed all over the hackers...

Old articles - should I highlight it's pre-pub to editors?

Hi all Am amassing some old content for which I retain copyright and want to re-sell. I've just submitted one and changed the original article a little to pep it up. Have offered usage only of course as many phrases will still show up in Copyscape. However I've just had a ghastly thought. Should I h...

Re: Second satirical article rejected - what's going on

Anyone? Running out of time for the client's request and it looks as though they've had very few - if any - submissions go through. Maybe because submissions are being seen as not within CC's accepted straight format and are rejected out of the gate? Seems a shame to lose a potential client. I can s...

Re: Help needed - satirical article rejected for wording

Do you know if the client wants the article written for a UK audience? If so, then perhaps you could make your case for the phrase. Otherwise, I'd find something else. I've never heard that phrase before here in the U.S. Thanks Celeste. :D Doesn't say. I'll find another way of expressing what I mea...
