Re: Rejection Question

Are you using NotePad? The WordWrap function is in the "Format" menu option. Instead of doing hard returns (pressing enter), let the software create the next line. In other words, only press enter for a new line if you start a new paragraph. Yes, I'm using Notepad. Thanks for the helpful ...

Re: Greater Cut for Constant-Content if Proofread Option...

I write articles for another website where the copy editors can make edits. I don't mind if they make a small fix for a typo that I let slip through. But sometimes the copy editors take it upon themselves to make a lot of changes. In some instances the changes totally alter the meaning of the sente...

Re: Rejection Question

Basically, an incorrect line wrap is when there are random linebreaks in your article / description that shouldn't be there. This happens to me quite often when I'm copying from notepad into the long description section where we submit articles. After pressing submit, it is a good idea to go back a...

Re: Rejection Question

It appeared that line wrap was not enabled somewhere in the process of formatting your article - either because you originally used a program like Notepad without line wrap enabled, or because something was lost when you saved your article in another file type. The problem appeared both in the docu...

Re: Rejection Question

Thanks, Celeste. As far as I know, that hasn't happened when submitting prior articles so I'm wondering why the format rearranged itself this time.

Is there a way to prevent this, or do I just need to check all future submissions?

Rejection Question

I just received an article rejection with the accompanying explanation: Please make sure your article and the excerpt shown in the content details are free of inappropriate line breaks. I've scrutinized the heck out of this rejected article looking for inappropriate line breaks and I'm clueless. I d...

Re: Hello?

Antonio, Thank you. Your response was encouraging, and your variations on the X theme made me laugh. The notion of writing 100 articles before something happens gives me pause, tho'. Sheesh! Oh, well. I have food for thought. BTW, my last response here actually belonged on another thread. But since ...

Re: Hello?

I agree it would be challenging to have to stick a certain number of keywords in an article and retain any flow. But I'm assuming keywords are something a customer definitely mentions, so we can opt out of torturing ourselves with keyword optimization if we choose to. Beyond that, I think more speci...

Re: Question about public requests.

In other words, they want well-written articles that will draw mega traffic, but they may have little idea what that looks like until someone writes it for them? Sheesh. If they don't know, how am I suppose to know? It's hard to hit a target when you're shootin' in the dark. :D <--- Just trying to s...

Question about public requests.

I'm curious as to why so little specific information is offered in public requests with regard to targeted readership, a preferred slant, whether they want formal or friendly, and what the goal of the article is...all info that would be helpful in responding to a request. I'm hesitant to ask a custo...

Re: Hello?

Okay, the common theme in response to my post seems to be that I need to keep my pricing in keeping with word count as opposed to the time involved in research and writing articles. I was afraid of that! Also, I tend to see everyday life as a distraction from writing rather than offering potential a...

Re: Hello?

Thanks for responding. I'm not flouncing out in a huff quite yet. But in weighing my frustration against the rewards thus far, my frustration is in the lead. It's particularly challenging because I'm trying to weave writing for cc in with a somewhat consuming full time job. My hope was that I could ...

Hello?

When submitting articles, can word count be rounded off or should it be exact? And if someone requests a 500 word article, I'm assuming they mean approximately? How important is a profile? I haven't put one up because I don't have a clue how to do the picture. I'm thinking they're less interested in...

Re: Where is my sample hiding?

No. I didn't click on the link at all during the review period when I noticed the five hits.

It was my understanding that the only person who could view the article during the review period was the person who requested the content. Which made me curious about the five hits.
