But increasing sales during these higher-spending periods won\u2019t just magically happen. Your marketing, especially your content marketing, needs to be ready to leverage these critical and competitive times of the year.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"a-great-opportunity\"><strong>A Great Opportunity<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Content always works best when it\u2019s aligned with the mindset of potential customers. As different holidays get closer, your potential customers\u2019 habits and search queries will likely be increasingly related to the upcoming holiday. They recorded pilots giving the tickets out in a bar in London and promoted it throughout the holidays.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why is it great?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Because it generated mass amounts of interest and positive sentiment, played to consumer\u2019s emotions, had a personal element and reinforced the service they provide.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>\n<h4><span id=\"anthropologie-diy\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.anthropologie.com\/category\/diy\/?cm_sp=BLOG-_-TOP_NAV-_-DIY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anthropologie- DIY<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>What is it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On their blog, Anthropologie has a DIY tab where they provide instructional \u201chow-to\u2019s\u201d addressing customer\u2019s holiday needs. They have guides for things like \u201cThe Girlfriends\u2019 Guide to Gift Giving\u201d, \u201cNearest and Dearest Gift Picks\u201d and \u201cHomemade for the Holidays: DIY Star Ornaments.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why is it great?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It addresses consumer\u2019s holiday needs, provides a space for user generated content, elicits feedback and is highly engaging.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"what-to-remember\"><strong>What to remember<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Holiday marketing, and content marketing in general, should not be about directly generating sales; it should be about developing positive brand sentiments and customer interest.
