My credentials include more than five years as a freelance writer on business and health topics. I also have a master’s degree from Radford University in Teacher Preparation of Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, PreK-12. I hold a postgraduate professional teaching license/certification. I have varied teaching experience in all subject levels. This experience spans the preschool level (Virginia Heights Elementary in Roanoke) to the college level (teacher assistant at Gallaudet University).
I also have extensive journalism experience stemming from my seven years at The Roanoke Times, a midsize daily newspaper. During my years at the newspaper, I edited stories for grammar, style, accuracy, clarity and content. My news design won two awards.
