In the 90's, Bill was a freelance sysadmin and tester in the Silicon Valley, working for such companies as AMD, Namco, and ICG.
At the turn of the century, Bill began to specialise in security and performance testing, while providing content and tutorials for the likes of Party Gaming, Yahoo Sports, and various MMA and poker sites. During this time he was also a ghostwriter for clients ranging from motivational speakers to members of the California State Senate.
After moving the the U.K., Bill became a content coach for uTest, writing guides and tutorials. In 2010, he was awarded the title of Performance Tester of the Year.
He went on to work for Deloitte, doing live consultation with clients such as Rolls Royce, Canon, Roche, and the NHS. In addition, he created Deloitte Digital's internal tester training suite, and helped document and launch their remote automation platform. He wrote components of major bids, as well as position papers on environmental and political issues.
In recent years, Bill became a full time fantasy author. He has written eight successful fantasy novels, with an average Goodreads rating of over 4 stars.
