Private Request Didn’t Sell?

If you submitted to a Private Request (that is, a customer contacted you directly to write an article for them) and the purchaser decided not to pick up the article, you can certainly resubmit the article for public purchase. While many requests may be customer-specific and not be resellable to the general customer base (articles for businesses or promotion of products), others may appeal to a wide audience (gardening articles, health articles).

If you have ascertained that the customer no longer wishes to purchase the Private Request article, simply resubmit with a "note to editor" in the short summary explaining that you are resubmitting an article for general purchase that was previously accepted as a private request.

Voila! You've given yourself an opportunity to make a sale out of an article that would otherwise be doomed to the unwanted Private Requests pile. (This is sort of like the Island of Misfit Toys, but Santa isn't going to come and rescue these articles - you have to do the rescuing.)
