I love to write. I have written and published 2 novels, 6 childrens books and over 17 website articles. I love the outdoors and the beach. I have 4 children (all grown) and 4 grandchildren. I adore traveling and I have always wanted to visit Tahiti which is a focal point in my latest book. But I don't really like to fly, so I don't know if that's ever going to happen.
When my children were all were in school, I sought a little more education and went to a Business Secretarial School in Jackson, MS. I got a job as an office manager with a local Shopper paper. I soon became interested in writing creative ad copy and moved into the advertising sales representative position after a few years. I thoroughly enjoyed this creative outlet, and accepted a position with a radio station writing even more ad copy. When my children were teenagers I starting writing a novel one day and finished it in 13 weeks. This was extremely therapeutic for me and I knew I was hooked. I have since written another novel and completed a children series (6 books). I have also sold insurance and advertising to pay the bills.
Although my background is in Sales/Marketing and Financials, my true passion is for writing. I prefer creative and humorous writing, but I can be serious. Along this line I have spent countless hours of research in the health and wellness industry, writing articles to better educate others in this life saving sector. The articles I wrote based on this research have been used to market health products and services. I have also written articles on Family and Parenting, Relationships, Travel and Insurance topics.
I originally worked in print advertising and eventually moved into radio and internet advertising as well. I have completed Marketing Consultant courses and Financial Services programs.
I have participated in trade shows, and other event marketing. I have researched and utilized many different internet marketing techniques such as: SEO, Viral Marketing, PPC, Traffic Exchanges, Classified Advertising, Link Exchange Programs, Traffic Bar Programs, Blogs, Forums, Press Releases, etc. I have some familiarity with html codes and rss feed programs. I enjoy generating and cultivating leads and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
In addition to Marketing/Advertising skills, I have been a personal secretary and assistant to five account executives in one position and six insurance agents in another position. I provided personal secretarial support to a General Manager of a newspaper and also a Small Business Owner. I also have experience in the medical transcription field. I worked for a doctor's office and handled all of his correspondence to specialists concerning his patients.
Adding to my experience, I worked for a psychological examiner transcribing his psychological test reports on children in five county school systems. I try very hard to be accurate and efficient and will provide you with a professional experience.
