In 2000, Danica finished second in the England Formula Ford Festival. She set the record of being the highest finishing American driver in the history of the event and was the top female finisher in Formula Ford history. The same year she competed in the Zetec Formula Ford Championship with Haywood Racing.

In 2002, Danica won the Pro Division of the annual Toyota Pro Celebrity race at Long Beach, beating out Tommy Kendall and Indy Racing League driver, Sarah Fisher. Team Rahl signed her to a multi year contract and she participated in several Barber Dodge Pro Series events. She earned a best finish of fourth in the Barber Dodge Pro series in Vancouver.

Career Highlights

— Third place performance in Monterrey, Mexico in the Toyota Atlantic Championship.

— Won her first career pole position in Portland in Round 5.

— Tied her career best finish of second in Round 4, in Portland and became the first woman to lead an open wheel championship.
