Planning a Winter Wedding
From snow covered outdoors to hot cocoa wedding favors, here are a few great reasons to tie the knot during the winter season.

Summer and spring are the most popular seasons to tie the knot. Even though winter is often overlooked, this cold but romantic season can be the perfect time for an unforgettable wedding. Below you will read several reasons why you should get married during the winter season.
Vendors
Wedding planning begins at least a year before the scheduled date for the event, the moment your prince charming places the engagement ring on your finger, you should begin thinking and planning your special day. OK, I admit, most of us begin planning this event way before we even meet our prince, but once you are engaged, it’s time to turn all those great ideas you have into the most unforgettable wedding.
Since spring is the most popular season for weddings, most vendors will be booked years in advance for events taking place during this season’s months. Instead of having to compromise and hire your second choice vendor, consider tying the knot during the winter. Most wedding vendors will be available during this season. Because this time of the year is less busy for them, they will have more time to focus on helping you make the wedding of your dreams come true.
Romantic Atmosphere
Whether you are planning an indoor or outdoor wedding, winter climate is very romantic. A snow covered outdoors can become a winter wonderland. You can create a path with candles for you to walk through. They will not only add lighting, but they will also bring warmth to a frosty afternoon. If you are having an indoor wedding, make your ballroom sparkle with snowflake shaped crystal centerpieces.
Not only is winter a very romantic time of the year, it is also a more comfortable climate for black tie events. You do not have to worry about the heat or the insects that come along with the hot temperatures. Also, if you have allergies, they will be less likely to bother you during the winter.
Ice Princess
Your wedding day is the one day in your life when you get to become a princess. On this day it is important to wear the best so you can look fabulous and put all your insecurities aside. Some hate to admit, but let’s tell the truth, we all are insecure about something. Wedding gowns specially designed for winter brides can help you flaunt your best features and hide the ones you’re not so proud off. You can also adorn your beautiful self with sparkly jewels on your ears, neck, wrist and hair. The icy season and the sparkly bling go hand in hand. Since you don’t have to worry about the heat, you can also wear a little more makeup than you would during hot spring or summer months.
Favors
Let’s be honest, most party favors we bring home from weddings end up in collecting dust in our house. If you get married in the winter, you can give your friends and family party favors they can actually enjoy. Instead of a flower vase, why not honor your guests with a coffee or hot cocoa mix. Who doesn’t love a cup of hot cocoa? Picture your guests sipping this warm, chocolaty drink in the snowy outdoors while they watch you and your husband dance for the first time as husband and wife. Not only will they be able to enjoy the beverage, this will set the mood for a warm and friendly atmosphere. If you decide on the coffee, this will be just another thing to keep your guests on the dance floor all night. Later, they can place the wrapper in their photo album to remember all the special memories of your event.
If you are having a snowflake themed wedding, you can present your guests with a snowflake candle holder. Place colored scented candles that match the colors of your wedding. When your guests go home and burn the candle, not only will they enjoy the scent you pick out, they will also be reminded of that special night they shared with you.
Getting married in the winter is convenient; it is also a great time to tie the knot in a unique romantic way. Whether indoors or outs, you can marry the man of your dreams during a frosty, romantic afternoon while looking gorgeous. Since you will be able to hire your favorite vendors, your event is sure to be a success.
