Renewable Energy (Best Offer)
|
Summary:
Renewable energy is the way of the future, with unlimited potential and unending resources. Here are some basic facts on renewable energy. |
Details or Sample:
Due to the increased cost of oil, change in climate, and desire for a cleaner earth, renewable energy is being pushed into the mainstream.
Renewable energy is the use of natural resources, such as; wind, sunlight, rain, tides and geothermal heat, which are naturally replenished. These forms of energy are used in solar and wind power, hydroelectric/micro hydro, biomass and biofuels for transportation, heat and living purposes.
Renewable energy in many forms is being widely used throughout the world today, though the full potential of alternative energy sources is still on the horizon. The most modern of the renewable energies are geothermal, wind, solar and ocean energy. The potential for these energy forms is very large and exceeds all other sources of energy as they are replenished daily.
Geothermal power (From the Greek words; Geo – meaning earth, and therme – meaning heat) is energy generated by heat stored beneath the earth’s surface or the collection of heat absorbed in the air or oceans.
Solar energy comes directly from the sun. This energy is the sole source for climate and weather and is a part of virtually every living thing on earth. The use of the Suns heating powers dates as far back as the Greeks, who often warmed their buildings by orienting them towards the sun. Modern use of solar power allows the Suns energy to provide heat, lighting, electricity, and even flight.
Hydroelectric energy is produced by hydro power. This form of energy produces no waste and no carbon dioxide, which contributes to greenhouse gasses. Most hydroelectric energy comes from dammed water and makes up 19% of the world’s energy sources.
