Health Conditions

Furthermore, some prescription drugs designed to combat certain health problems may promote hair fall as a side effect. However, you must not stop taking prescribed medication from your doctor. If you have reason to believe that certain medication you are taking may be causing your hair to fall out, you must speak to your doctor, as there may be an alternative one that doesn´t cause side effects. Some health problems can be dramatically improved by diet. It is worthwhile to find ways to improve your health, such as healthy eating or losing excess weight.
Stress
The endless causes of stress such as moving home, relationship problems, and financial worries will not help. Prolonged, severe stress can be the cause of alopecia and gradual hair thinning. Take time out to relax and spend some time doing things you enjoy, or try and take a short break away somewhere. If time is the problem, then the only way you can have time for yourself is to make time; just devote a certain time in the day or week that is for yourself, but make sure you stick to it.
Heavy Metal Toxicity
High concentrations of some metals in the body can lead to hair thinning and alopecia. Aluminium is very toxic and can be found in deodorants and food containers. One of the most toxic is Mercury; commonly used in amalgam tooth fillings. There are now alternative fillings to choose from.
Vitamin Deficiency
Some vegetarians, and people who go on excessive diets may consume a diet inadequate in certain major vitamins. Moreover, alcohol and smoking can destroy certain vitamins essentail for health. Vitamin B, and Omega-3 fatty acids which are found in fish oils, are needed for healthy hair growth. After child birth, or if you suffer from heavy periods, it is important to get iron levels checked out with your doctor.
