Luigi's Italian Restaurant: Good Food for a Fair Price in Ocean City, New Jersey (Best Offer)
|
Summary:
A short, mostly positive review of Luigi´s Italian Restaurant in Ocean City, New Jersey |
Details or Sample:
Luigi’s Italian Restaurant has been offering comfort food to visitors and residents in Ocean City, New Jersey since 1958. Located at 300 Ninth Street, Luigi’s is highly visible to tourists entering Ocean City by Beesley’s Point Bridge, but drivers can easily miss it in their haste to get to the beach. The “Italian Restaurant” sign is eye-catching, but the building (not painted pink like the nearby Chatterbox Restaurant) blends in.
Anyone seeking good Italian food at a fair price will find it at Luigi’s. The freshly baked bread is an excellent starter, and the meals are delicious with generous portions. A family of four can eat a hearty lunch for under $25.00, a rare occurrence at the shore, where similar restaurants tend to be much more expensive.
The low price comes partly because of a slightly dated décor, though the green vinyl upholstery on the booths and the tapestry valances on the windows are not unattractive. The restaurant has dimmer lighting than most in the area, and the restrooms are small, but everything is kept clean.
Luigi’s doesn’t hold much appeal for small children, and strollers and diaper changes are hard to manage there. The entrance step makes the restaurant slightly difficult to access for visitors in wheelchairs, as well. Otherwise, the friendly, laid-back servers and customers will enable diners to leave happy and satisfied, with plans to return on their next visit to Ocean City.
