The local restaurants have an amazing variety when it comes to tempting and tasteful menus that help sightseers refuel for more adventures. From American to French to Italian, there’s something to please everyone.
Paris Las Vegas resort hotel and casino is home to Mon Ami Gabi, a fashionable French bistro that features alfresco dining at its best. Although it might be difficult to obtain a reservation for the patio, it is worth the effort. Even the warm summer months cannot keep people away. Shaded by awnings and kept cool by a clever misting system, the patio faces the strip and offers a chance to mingle with tourists from all around the country as well as the world.
Mon Ami Gabi features an excellent wine list (by-the-glass) and a mouth-watering array of chic dishes. From shallot steak to quiche to pommes frites to trout grenobloise, diners are sure to be entranced by the choices. For a bit of romantic atmosphere, try the interior dining area, which offers an elegance of its own. The recommended dress is casual attire. Parking is available onsite. Reservations are suggested.
Inside the Bellagio, visitors can get a taste of Pablo Picasso’s fine art including ceramics and paintings along with fine food of a distinctively French-Mediterranean flavor at the Picasso. Diners can view the hotel’s famous water fountain directly outside the window of the flower-filled dining area. Two quite different menus are offered at the Picasso: a four-course prix fixe and a five-course degustation or sampling of the chef’s specialties. Dress is semi-formal. Bougainvillea Café, located at Terrible’s Hotel & Casino, features a 24-hour menu of quite a few interesting options. The portions are noted for being large and satisfying. From the slow-cooked rotisserie meats to the tower of onions to the huge mouth-watering steaks to the tequila chicken, dining guests are sure to be pleased. Dress is casual at the Bougainvillea Café. Onsite parking with valet service is available. The cuisine is American.
The Grape Street Café, located on West Lake Mead Boulevard, is a California-style bistro that features an amazing array of more than 75 wines for purchase by the glass. The atmosphere alone is worth a visit since this fine eatery is designed with brick walls and a concrete floor in the style of a true winery. For diners who prefer the outdoors, patio dining is also available at the Grape Street Café. A touch of cheese is often on the menu from the fruit and cheese board to the baked brie to the sauces flavored with Asiago cheese. Entrees run the gamut from chicken to lamb chops to pasta dishes. Onsite parking is available. Dress is dressy casual attire. This eatery is closed on major holidays.
Battista’s Hole in the Wall, located on Audrie Street, features walls of celebrity photos along with the tasty Italian cuisine. Open since 1970, Battista’s Hole in the Wall has had many famous movie stars dine there including Clint Eastwood and Robert Redford. Each meal comes with all of the house wine that dining guests desire, garlic bread, pasta, and soup or salad. Homemade cappuccino is also included in the price of your meal. The menu features a delightful selection including steak Caruso, cheese manicotti, lasagna, filet mignon, ravioli, and more. Dress is casual attire. Onsite parking is available. A full bar is offered.
The Tilted Kilt, located in the Rio Hotel, features Irish American cuisine in a background of Irish atmosphere. Waitresses who cater to the needs of the guests wear plaid kilts. Barrels of flavored pretzels are scattered throughout the room and are free to dining patrons. The beer list is extensive and is offered along with a full bar. From beer-steamed clams to fish and chips to pizza, the entrée choices are varied and tasty. Dessert is a delightful taste from the super sundae bar. Dress is casual attire. Onsite parking with valet service is available.
Diego, a Mexican cantina, is located at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. It features home-fire cooking that includes bold flavors from south of the border. The signature dish at Diego is the pollo al horno con mole, which is an oven-roasted baby chicken flavored with parsnips, spinach, and red mole. Dining guests can also select from numerous other dishes including garlic-lime skirt steak, duck, Yucatan-style pork, and braised beef brisket. Unfortunately, this particular cantina is only open for dinner. However, the salsa cart that travels the room makes the visit even more exciting. Dress is casual attire. Onsite parking with valet service is available. A full bar is offered.
