Tools you’ll need: A set of channel lock pliers, a rag, surface cleaner safe for plastic
Materials: Teflon, thread-sealing plumber’s tape and a shower head

1) Turn off the water supply. You may not need to shut off the water source to the tub, but it doesn’t hurt to do so in order so you don’t end up soaking wet.

2) Using the channel lock pliers, gently grasp the end of the old shower head where it attaches to the water pipe that comes out of the wall. Turn the shower head’s threads counter-clockwise and loosen the old head until it pulls free.
