The cold, dry air of winter can ravage your skin, not just on exposed areas like your face and hands, but all over your body.

You do not have to succumb to winter’s effects on your skin. Here are a dozen tips for keeping the other parts of your skin looking youthful and smooth all winter long.

Neck and décolleté

Take an extra step that most women forget, and you will look years younger than other women your age.

Apply all products you use on your face to your neck and upper chest. This includes retinol products, sunscreen, and lotions. Protect and hydrate this often neglected part of your body this winter.

You will be able to wear your party dresses without revealing your age through damaged skin on your neck and décolletage.

Elbows

Crusty elbows are not in this season. Or any season, for that matter. Solve the problem by using an exfoliating scrub and a soft nail brush or abrasive sponge to remove the dry caked skin from your elbows. Use an emollient cream – foot cream works well for maximum hydration. For overnight care, rub in some petroleum jelly. Prevent buildup on your elbows by exfoliating once or twice a week and applying lotion daily. (These same strategies work for your knees, too!)
