Details or Sample:
Tonight’s episode of Survivor China pulled another infamous switch-a-roo among tribe members.
Both tribes, Fei Long and Zhan Hu selected two members from the opposing tribe to join their own. Fei Long chose Frosti and Sherea. Zhan Hu chose Aaron and James.
While both tribes seemed to enjoy a surprise basket of fruits and drinks and they all celebrated the mix-up of their respective tribes. The occasion was bittersweet for some players and precarious at best for others.
A new pecking order was quickly established at both tribes.
When Frosti and Sherea joined Fei Long, sparks continued to fly around Jean-Robert. Despite the effort that Jean-Robert made to wake up early and get a jump on catching shrimp, it was no secret that he was still a major source of conflict among the Fei Long tribe. Frosti admitted he was happy he felt more secure about sticking around than Jean-Robert. Sherea was still making it obviously clear that she wasn’t trying to befriend Jean-Robert. Tonight, even Denise voiced her irritation in a sort of talk therapy directed toward Jean-Robert where she echoed how he should have asked for her help. Denise then sarcastically answered her own question and agreed to help Jean-Robert anyway. Amanda and Courtney avoided drawing any further attention to the fact that they appear to be the weaker physical links of the team. The two women both seemed to slide under the radar this week.
When James and Aaron joined Zhan Hu, the two newcomers were instantly outnumbered by tribe origins 3 to 2. Jaime, Peih Gee, and Erik were keenly aware of the fact that the original Zhan Hu members were in the majority, and James and Aaron were immediately their targets for future visits to tribal council. Unknown to James, Aaron, and Erik, the two women decided that if they intentionally threw the immunity challenge than that would be a surefire way to get rid of one of the new arrivals from Fei Long.
For the immunity challenge, Fei Long sat out Amanda and Courtney due to having two extra members. Both Fei Long and Zhan Hu performed nearly neck and neck in the first half of the challenge which consisted of swimming, pulling wooden spears out of an underwater cage to release zodiac puzzle disks, and then taking the disks back to shore and awaiting team members.
Clueless about the women’s premeditated strategy, James struggled to fit the zodiac puzzle disks onto the board in the correct way. James efforts were futile, as Peih Gee acted completely oblivious to what was going on. She even stopped completely and conversed with Jeff. Jaime actually threw one of the zodiac disks in the grass behind the game board. As planned, Zhan Hu lost the immunity challenge.
Back at camp, James and Aaron tried to understand what happened at the challenge. Both Peih Gee and Jaime smiled and even laughed. Erik talked with the girls aside from James and Aaron and they admitted they intentionally threw the challenge to vote off James or Aaron. Their plan had worked so they only needed to decide which one was going home tonight. Erik was not pleased with the girls’ decision to throw the challenge, but he felt obligated to side with them. Though he has doubts from being blind-sided, Erik told Jaime he still trusts her.
James said he should be going home, and he wanted to be sent home if that was how they were going to play the game.
At camp and while talking to Jeff at tribal council, everyone seemed prepared to vote off James. In an interesting twist, Aaron got the vote and his torch extinguished. An angry James headed back to camp.
Next week in Fei Long:
Is there any saving grace for Jean-Robert? Will Sherea continue to rest on her laurels and let her new teammates do all the work?
Next week in Zhan Hu:
How does James react to Aaron receiving the vote instead of him? How will all players react when they learn Jaime and Peih Gee intentionally threw an immunity challenge?
Previews for next week’s episode, hint at a Chinese food tasting challenge. All eyes are betting first on Courtney to again be the weakest physical link for Fei Long. Yet, who else may not be strong enough to stomach authentic Chinese delicacies?
Will Jaime and Peih Gee reap what they’ve sown after not playing a challenge to their utmost potential?
Be sure to watch and find out!
