Heartbreaker by Julie Garwood

Summary:
Favorable book review of Julie Garwood's romantic suspense novel, Heartbreaker.
Details or Sample:
"Bless me father, for I will sin..." whispers the chilling voice on the other side of the confessional. Father Tom Madden listens helplessly as the self-styled "Heartbreaker" lovingly details his stalking and torture of his victims, then demands Madden tell the
police. As a priest, Madden cannot, and will not, break the sanctity of the confessional, a fact surprising to Heartbreaker but not unexpected. He has a backup plan to notify the police of his next target: Laurant Madden, Tom's sister. Heartbreaker also suggests Tom call in his lifelong friend Nick Buchanan, an FBI agent. Nick is eager to help his friend, and pretending to be the fiance of the gorgeous Laurant is no hardship either. Laurant finds Nick's determination to protect her, and his general attitude, infuriating. As Laurant and Nick edgily await Heartbreaker's next move, a web of intrigue tightens around them and their growing feelings for each other. Garwood provides as deft a touch with contemporary romance as she has with her historicals. Long time readers will recognize the family name of one of her secondary characters, and her delightful tongue-in-cheek humor is wickedly present.
