The first thing to do when preparing a resume is to get your information together. You"ll want to list all the education, job experience and skills you have which are relevant to the job for which you are applying. For each item, you"ll want to remember the dates you were in school or at that job and put them in chronological order, with the most recent first. Do this first so you"ve got this information readily at hand.
What if you haven"t been to college or worked outside the home? Does that mean you can"t do anything? Not hardly! Have you cared for children? Have you used a computer? Have you organized the PTA fundraising drive? Are you the person who does the household repairs? Have you had your own side business making crafts to sell on deadline at consignment fairs? All of these things use skills which could be valuable to an employer. Make a list of what skills you"ve used in your life, and think how these could help get you a job.
