Neon Nuptial Know How

You can tie the knot 24/7 in Las Vegas, but you better get your marriage license during regular business hours. Some say the recent decision to limit the hours that licenses will be issued in Clark county, was financial, and others insist its a "down time" for impulsive folks to rethink their sappy spontaneity. Regardless of why, it has many concerned about their possible, future and impromptu plans. With just a little basic information, you can enjoy your special day (or night). Everything you need to know is right here.

This change affects only marriage licenses, not ceremonies. There are literally tons of chapels and at least one drive thru that can provide ceremonies round the clock.

The Las Vegas marriage license bureau is open from 8am to 12 midnight, including holidays.

The office of civil marriages (civil ceremonies only) is open from 8am to 10pm daily, including weekends and holidays.

All licenses are valid for one year in the state of Nevada only.

Its going to cost $55.00, cash only and exact change appreciated.

Licenses will be issued to a male and female only, with no closer relationship than second cousins.

If the bride or groom has ever been divorced, they need to know the exact date and location the decree was issued.

It is required to provide proof of being over 18 years old. Acceptable identifications are:

All US citizens must provide their social security number on the application.
