Movie Review - The Devil Wears Prada

Summary:
Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep deliver polar opposite performances in The Devil Wears Prada, one of the summers funniest and freshest films.
Details or Sample:
In the world of fashion, New York is the epicenter. At the center of New York´s fashion world is Runway magazine, headed up by Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). Miranda is tough as nails. She´s a true shark. She´s made it to the top by sharpening her well-manicured claws on the backs of others.

To say Miranda was a demanding boss would be an understatement.

Into Miranda´s world falls Andrea "Andy" Sachs (Anne Hathaway), a dumpy size 6, recent college graduate who desires to become a serious journalist and not a fashionista. Andy lands a gig as Miranda´s assistant number 2, a job that millions of girls would kill for but most can´t hack.

As Andy continues to work for Miranda, it becomes clear that something must change. She has to sell her soul in a Faustian bargain with the devil and become one of the "clackers´, a group of super-slim, dilettantes who wear only the haute-st of couture. Andy turns into what she used to make fun of much to the chagrin of her family, friends and beau (Adrian Grenier).

Andy gives her all to this gig in the hopes that she can land a plum job in the publishing world when she´s done. She even undertakes the impossible such as getting Miranda´s twins the newest - and unreleased - copy of the latest Harry Potter book. As her stock and star rises in Miranda´s eyes, Andy starts to lose what made her Andy. She has troubles with her boyfriend and heads off to Paris after telling Miranda´s first assistant, Emily, that she´s been bumped down the ladder of importance.
