How To Play Pocket Rockets in No-Limit Texas Holdem

Summary:
Pocket Aces are the best possible starting hand in No-Limit Texas Holdem before the flop. They can be tricky depending after the flop, however. Here's some strategy on how you can maximize your wins and neutralize your losses with pocket rockets.
Details or Sample:

A lot gets written about how to play specific hands in No-Limit Texas HOld 'Em, especially the pocket rockets. Pocket rockets, for those of you who don't know, are the best starting hand in NLHE. When you look down and see Ace, Ace in your hand, it's one of the best feelings in the world. You feel like you're in the catbird seat and you are PRE-FLOP. After that, your aces can become quite vulnerable. Many times people get busted out of tournaments or lose sizeable stacks of their chips when they hold aces because they over-value them after the flop, on the turn and at the river.

So, what's the best way to play aces - slow or fast? How do you maximize your earning and winning potential with this - the best starting hand in NLHE?

Well, these are difficult questions to answer. There's really no right way to answer them. Basically, I'll go through the different betting streets and give you some thoughts on how to play the hand. Sometimes, you'll have to consider folding your aces. Yes, really! Remember - poker is situational and some situations make those aces look really crappy on later betting streets.

PRE-FLOP - Raise, raise or re-raise from any position. You've got the nuts right now. If you only have one or two callers, you've got a good shot at winning the hand all the way through to the river so don't make it a huge amount to call. If there are a lot of callers, you are gonna want to make a sizeable raise and may even consider going all-in to isolate other players. Slow-playing the best hand pre-flop isn't advisable as you can really be setting yourself up for a trap you can't get out of.
