From its humble beginnings as an undistinguished part of a Mexican government land grant, to the center of Sutter"s famous gold rush in the mid-1800s, to today"s glittering California capital, Sacramento has something for everyone.

The Sacramento Zoo is the pride of the region, featuring a rare feline center and the Claire Mower Red Panda Forest.
