From 2000 to 1000 B.C. cultural advances escalated in many parts of the world, with the majority perhaps still stemming from that Mesopotamian core. During this period we see the Egyptian Story of Sinuhe, perhaps the world"s first novel. We see the beginning of the Arabic alphabet as well as the first seven periods of Chinese literature. The Egyptians also collected various of their religious writings to form the Book of the Dead. The Babylonian Code of King Hammurabi enforced law at this point surrounding criminal offences, lines of inheritance and even medical guidelines.

Other significant events include the embalming of King Tutenkhamen"s body. The Shang culture thrived in China at the same time the Bronze Age was beginning in Scandinavia. The Upanishad hymns of India came into being and it is thought that Moses received his Ten Commandments during this timer period as well...

Other important cultural events include Nebuchadnezzar"s Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Romans first stone bridge, the birth of Hippocrates (known as the Father of Medicine), the works of the classical Greek playwrights were performed in the first theatres, the Temple of Zeus was built at Olympia—another Ancient Wonder—Plato studied under Socrates, Alexander founded the great Egyptian port city of Alexandria and conquered the world, the Venus ode Milo was created, Ovid wrote his love poetry, and the birth of Jesus is said to have taken place in Bethlehem.
