Dont Worry, She Only Attacks Other Dogs

Summary:
Some people have dogs that arent good around children. This funny dog story tells you why sometimes its other dogs that you should really be worrying about, especially when Charlotte is out and about.
Details or Sample:
I have heard myself say it a hundred times, dont worry she won´t attack your children, just your dogs. Somehow, each time I am convinced that this will make people feel better. You would think that after the reaction I get that I would just keep my mouth shut. Maybe saying it comes from working too long in the legal field. I should really just have some of my old bosses write up a Disclosure of My Dogs Desire to Bite Your Dogs *** or an Affidavit Verifying that I Cant Control My Dogs Alpha-Femaleness.

Amazingly, Charlotte has never actually hurt another dog. However, one cant help but be traumatized each time a walk to the school bus stop turns sour because a stray wants to say hello, or because the neighbors dogs are outside on the line. It doesnt matter which - a stray dog, a leashed dog, or an old and weak dog. She wants to show all of them who is boss. In fact, each time I walk her, she raises a choir of protests from behind fences and windows, yet when they get a chance to meet her in person (or in dog), theyre all so naive of her potential.

If dogs could fill out police reports, they would give statements like, ...but, she was acting like she wanted me to sniff her, Her tail was saying yes, and I was just being friendly. Its true. She sends mixed signals, but that doesnt mean that any of them should attempt to bark or snarl back. A lot of people who know much more about dogs than I do tell me that I need to let her go to dog mixers at the park and take her on dog-friendly shopping adventures more often. I always want to ask them, and which dog wants to get a facelift first? Charlotte is that tough.

Dont worry, though. She can display her softer, adorable side to other dogs, as long as they dont look at her. If you get too inquisitive with her, she just loses it instantly. Her blondish-gold fur hunches up along her spine. Her big, pointy ears come down, and her fangs are ferociously complimented by her black gums. Exactly - kind of like a Gremlin in the wrong state of mind.

You can be standing at the ferret cage giggling with your children, and then a moment later Charlotte is entangled in a pretzel of leash lines and flying fur. All that I have learned from the Dog Whisperer goes out the window. The owner of the victim dog turns pale as they quickly try to extract their dog from the situation. Neither of us can help but examine the crime scene afterward for puddles of blood and fangs. Each time, Charlotte has shown great mercy to her offensive foe. Then, its back to her sweet, little brown-eyed self with her wiggling black, eyebrows and smiling snout. That is, until another unfortunate and unsuspecting dog looks at her the wrong way.
