Halloween: Memories to Last a Lifetime

Remember when you were younger and you got overly excited about the one night of the year when things got to be different? The night when the ghosts and goblins came out to play and you were allowed to stay out late without being grounded for missing curfew? Yes, I´m talking about Halloween, and wasn´t it great? I mean, what other day of the year were you able to smile guilt-free at the thought of stuffing your face full of candy?

And even though candy was of course a major part of the event, it was by no means everything. I just loved getting dressed up and being able to wear the costume to school and not look like a complete idiot. Everyone was expected to dress up in those days, so it was all in good fun.

I´m rather surprised that I never did tire of my costume. Every year I went out as the same thing - a witch. But hey, I enjoyed it, and why mess with a good thing? It seems like an awful bother trying to work out a brand new costume when there is a perfectly good one right there already. Interesting how I never grew out of the costume either. My mother must have made adjustments to it or something as the years went by. Either way, it was my prized possession. Mind you, I did have to replace the hat one year. And they certainly don´t make those like they used to.
