Men in Pink: Bold Colors Fill the Menswear Palette This Spring

The fashions filling the runways this spring are sleek, classy, sharp, and brave. Think bright reds, yellows, and greens and mix these up with some pale melon, pink, and white. The result? A world of color that was once reserved for women only. The new shades, along with soft fabric and sleek styles, create a classy look that, despite the hues, remains masculine and strong.
Bottega Veneta is most known for its leather products; this spring, though, their menswear collection is causing a buzz with its bright reds, greens, and yellows that are appearing together on jackets, shirts, ties, belts, and shoes. Stripes are a big hit with this designer as well. If you want to make a statement Bottega Veneta style, pair a soft tan suit with a pin-striped white and red shirt and top that with a bold red, green, yellow, and white tie. Bottega Veneta is also including a multitude of accessories to adorn their spring collection, including matching satchel bags.
Run by identical twins Dean and Dan Caten, Dsquared offers men a touch of western this spring. Suspenders, tight jackets, cowboy hats, and vests don the collection in hues of tan, chocolate, and blue. Think classic western with an edge: overalls paired with a jacket; suspenders holding up Dsquared"s signature ultra-low riding jeans; a longer, tight fitting jacket worn over a crisp blue shirt. Neckwear completes the outfit, whether it is a slender tie or a funky scarf.
Always classic, Valentino has chosen light colors for the spring-lavender, melon green, and tan-combined with comfortable fabrics and clean lines. The versatile color white is also making an appearance in the Valentino collection, as well as in others. If going Valentino style, pair a white jacket with white pants and a melon green shirt; dark shoes complete the look. Plaids in brown, black, and white prints are also featured on pants and shorts for 2006 |
