Preening Flamingo in Captivity

In captivity, a flamingo´s color turns to a shade of brown if not fed enough of things such as carrots. Their bright orange color when not in captivity is a result of their natural diet.

Preening Flamingo

A flamingo stands on one leg while preening. Ankle bone is clearly visible. (The leg does not bend backward at the knee - it bends backward at the ankle joint, which is high on a flamingo´s leg.)
