This is a very rare fossil. The tree(pitus Withani) grew about 320-340 million years ago in the swamp at Craiglieth, 1 mile from Edinburgh. It lies in the botanical garden at Edinburgh.
This lightening bolt was taken from my patio in Bryant, AR during a recent Thunderstorm. The lightening in this storm was incredible, with multiple bolts coming from the same cloud. The whirls of lights at the bottom are the reflections from cars on the nearby interstate.
This is a view of Turtle Island, off of Makapuu Beach from a hiking trail above. The view is through a natural hole in the rock.
This photo was taken in Maui in June 2008. The sun´s rays are highlighted by the fog and shadowed by the trees in the forest. The effect is mysterious and awe inspiring.
