Japanese born author Kazuo Ishiguro burnt brightly from a relatively young age. Since the start of his professional writing career, he has produced some astoundingly beautiful and inspired works of fiction. Not least is the sensitive and moving novel Remains of the Day, which became a screen hit starring Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson. This current book is different. It is a series of short stories around the themes of music, love and loss. All are exquisitely crafted and a joy to read.
