Linnie has been blazing trails in the HVAC industry for nearly two decades. Linnie is passionate about technical training. Her mission is to raise the overall knowledge in the industry by providing people with the opportunity to learn new skills, improve their performance and productivity and ultimately, advance their careers.
Linnie began her career in the HVAC industry in 2005 as a technical writer at the Trane Residential corporate headquarters in Tyler, TX, where she developed installation and service technical literature for residential package units and accessories, split systems, furnaces, and controls. From there Linnie developed technical and sales training programs for Daikin’s mini-split and VRF systems. Her solid product foundation in residential and commercial systems prepared Linnie for the roles that she has at Lennox. “My entire career in the HVAC industry has prepared me for my work at Lennox”.
Currently, Linnie leads both the curriculum development as well as successful implementation and delivery execution of the technical training materials and training programs for the full suite of commercial products at Lennox Commercial. Linnie has taken Lennox’s commercial training to a new level by systematically producing content which standardizes the way training is developed, delivered, and made available to our customer’s service and installation technicians, and internal Lennox sales and customer support teams. Linnie leads a team of five commercial field technical consultants. Linnie and her team provide technical training, onsite field support, telephone technical support, and VRF commissioning.
Prior to 2020, Lennox provided in-person training as the primary method of delivery. The COVID pandemic changed that overnight and Linnie quickly pivoted the Lennox training team in a first of its kind for the organization by converting all commercial training programs to webinar style formats so that the team could continue to deliver high quality informative training programs for technicians. The benefit was immediate and impactful and received numerous accolades from our customers.
But it was not an easy road getting here. Being a gay woman in a traditionally male dominated industry can present challenges. Linnie knew that in order to build the best technician training in the industry that she needed to have the knowledge of a field technician. Linnie successfully achieved NATE certification and completed the Lennox Build-A-Tech service technician training program. From there, one step at a time, she channeled both her product and technical knowledge in a way which allowed technicians to connect with her vision on how technicians should be trained. As a result, Linnie has earned the respect of every role in our industry from technicians to executives. She has a diverse skill set that allows her to be comfortable from a C-Suite conference room to a construction job site and anywhere in between.
