Writer Biography
I use words to their best advantage. Strung together in sentences and paragraphs, words inform, and can evoke an image, a feeling, or both.
As your writer, I will draw on my love of words, a doctorate in Organizational Leadership, a B.S. in Journalism, and over ten years at the executive level in nonprofit leadership. I am a water colorist and an amateur interior designer, and Author of DESIGNING SHARED SPACES AT HOME (eBook on Amazon).
I enjoy putting fingers to the keyboard to write about something new. I also can quickly meet deadlines when the subject is familiar, as it is with facilitation, community mediation, disaster preparedness and response and recovery, public information officer, parenting, yoga, international humanitarian law, voluntary service, friendship, politics, divorce, marriage, birdwatching, being an elder, and more.
A writer must flex her writing muscles to do justice to the power of words, and I am constantly learning. (For instance, some of the articles I posted to the CC site in years past do not meet my current standards. Eventually, I will rewrite.)
My writing experience includes press releases, flyers and other promotional materials, opinion articles, short stories, interview-based stories, website pages, blogs, and social media. I earned my doctorate at age 55, and was on the receiving end of a Reduction in Force at age 65.
I appreciate change, challenge and an occasional glass of local wine. I look forward to working with you.
