George Bear is a librarian and freelance writer. He has published three books, articles in national magazines (including National Review, American Heritage and Sports Afield) and has been editor of three journals. Bear has also published approximately 200 book reviews. Although the scope of his writing is wide-ranging, he has particular interest in the history of books and printing, the Blackfeet Indians and the technology of firearms.
