Breaking down barriers and building bridges is at the heart of everything River Lin does. Writing, editing, teaching, mentoring, and volunteer work all focus on diversity and making connections between people, ideas, knowledge, and opportunities. Seeing designs and patterns in diversity is one of Lin's gifts; drawing lines that accentuate the connections in a diverse world is her passion.
River Lin has a master's degree in TESOL and linguistics and currently teaches English to international students at Ball State University.
As a teacher, she aims to discover her students’ individual learning styles, interests, and personalities so that even in a full classroom, she can tailor activities to both meet students where they are and challenge them to go beyond their own personal expectations. As a writer, she seeks to inspire curiosity and to shed new light on universal themes.
