Eldest by Christopher Paolini
The second book of a trilogy is often the hardest to pull off. The story begun in the first third must continue to develop while the ground is laid for the final installment. Yet the middle third cannot just be a space saver, something to fill the gap between here and there. Review Mo Willems Picture Books
